Position: School Cleaner

Job Summary

The School Cleaner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and overall hygiene throughout the school premises.

 

The role involves cleaning classrooms, offices, hallways, toilets, laboratories, libraries, staff rooms, canteens, and other common areas to ensure that students and staff enjoy a clean, safe, and healthy environment every day.

 

The successful candidate will work closely with supervisors and fellow cleaning staff to complete daily cleaning schedules, respond to additional cleaning requests when necessary, and ensure that all assigned areas consistently meet company and school cleanliness standards.

 

Working Schedule

Working Days

Six (6) working days per week

Sunday is the weekly rest day

Working Hours

Part-Time Schedule

Morning Shift:

7:00 AM – 11:00 AM

Evening Shift:

4:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Full-Time Schedule

11:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Additional working hours or overtime may be required depending on operational requirements and school activities.

 

Job Responsibilities

As a School Cleaner, your daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

Clean classrooms before and after school sessions.

 

Sweep, vacuum, and mop classroom floors daily.

Dust and clean desks, chairs, cupboards, bookshelves, and office furniture.

Wipe and disinfect tables, workstations, computer desks, laboratory benches, and frequently touched surfaces.

 

Clean windows, window frames, glass panels, mirrors, and doors.

Empty rubbish bins and dispose of waste according to school waste management procedures.

 

Replace rubbish bags whenever necessary.

Clean and sanitize toilets, washrooms, sinks, mirrors, urinals, and restroom facilities.

Refill toilet paper, hand soap, paper towels, and other hygiene supplies.

 

Clean corridors, staircases, elevators, entrances, exits, and walkways.

 

Maintain cleanliness of school halls, auditoriums, meeting rooms, libraries, laboratories, offices, staff rooms, and common areas.

 

Carry out high dusting of ceilings, fans, air vents, light fixtures, pipes, and difficult-to-reach areas using appropriate equipment.

 

Remove cobwebs and accumulated dust from designated areas.

Polish surfaces whenever required.

Ensure outdoor areas remain clean by collecting litter around the school compound.

 

Clean canteen seating areas and surrounding spaces.

Follow daily cleaning schedules prepared by the supervisor.

Handle cleaning chemicals safely and responsibly according to workplace safety procedures.

 

Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, mops, and other cleaning tools correctly.

Report damaged equipment, maintenance issues, safety hazards, or unusual situations immediately to the supervisor.

 

Support additional cleaning tasks during school events, examinations, meetings, or special occasions.

Ensure all cleaning tools and equipment are cleaned, stored, and maintained properly after use.

Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by management.

 

Candidate Requirements

Applicants should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

Minimum primary or secondary education is preferred.

 

Previous cleaning experience is an advantage but not compulsory.

Training will be provided for suitable candidates.

Physically fit and capable of performing manual cleaning work for extended periods.

 

Able to lift and move cleaning equipment when required.

Responsible, reliable, and trustworthy.

Good personal hygiene and professional appearance.
