Job Overview

Adecco is partnering with a world leader in industrial gases, technologies, and services for industry to recruit a Junior Project Engineer in Singapore.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with an engineering background who are looking to begin or develop their career in project engineering.

 

The successful candidate will support project activities from site coordination and installation through testing and commissioning, while working closely with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and the Project Manager.

 

Candidates with no prior project engineering experience are welcome to apply, provided they have the required engineering qualifications and technical knowledge.

 

Work Schedule

5 working days per week

Working hours: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Full-time, 1-year contract position

Contract may be renewed or converted depending on business requirements and performance

Key Responsibilities

Site & Project Coordination

Supervise and coordinate daily site activities and installation works.

 

Coordinate with consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.

Monitor project progress and ensure activities remain on schedule.

 

Follow up on site activities to support timely project completion.

Assist the Project Manager with day-to-day project coordination.

Ensure project activities are properly planned and coordinated before work begins.

 

Engineering & Technical Support

Review project drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.

 

Provide technical input relating to installation and mechanical design drawings.

Read and interpret P&IDs, PFDs, piping layouts, pipe supports, and mechanical installation drawings.

Assist with technical coordination for piping systems and equipment installation.

 

Identify technical issues during installation and coordinate with the relevant parties for resolution.

Ensure engineering information is properly communicated to site teams and contractors.

 

Installation, Testing & Commissioning

Coordinate vendors and contractors during equipment installation.

Assist in monitoring installation activities to ensure work follows approved drawings and specifications.

 

Support equipment testing and commissioning activities.

Coordinate with relevant parties to resolve installation and commissioning issues.

 

Follow project requirements throughout the installation and commissioning process.

Safety & Compliance

Coordinate site safety requirements and work permits.

 

Ensure site activities comply with company safety procedures and applicable regulations.

Support compliance with Singapore and international construction and piping codes.

 

Promote a safe, clean, and organized working environment.

Report and follow up on safety or site-related issues when required.

 

Procurement & Project Administration

Assist with tender documentation and project-related paperwork.

 

Support procurement activities and vendor coordination.

Assist with budgeting and cost estimation.

Attend project meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

 

Prepare project progress reports and other required documentation.

Maintain accurate project records and technical documents.

 

Requirements

Higher NITEC or Diploma in Engineering.

Candidates from Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines are encouraged to apply.

 

Fresh graduates and candidates without previous project engineering experience are welcome.

 

Basic knowledge of mechanical design documentation.

Knowledge of piping systems and equipment installation.

 

Able to read and understand P&IDs, PFDs, piping layouts, pipe supports, and mechanical installation drawings.

Good understanding of engineering drawings and technical specifications.

 

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Knowledge of Microsoft Project or equivalent project management software is an advantage.

Familiarity with Google Workspace.

Knowledge of Singapore and international construction and piping codes and regulations is an advantage.

 

Good communication, coordination, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Able to work with different project stakeholders, contractors, vendors, and site teams.

Willing to work on-site and participate in project coordination activities.

 

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is an engineering graduate or junior-level engineering professional who is interested in developing practical experience in project execution, site coordination, equipment installation, and commissioning.

 

You should be comfortable working with technical drawings, communicating with different project stakeholders, and supporting multiple project activities. Good organizational skills, attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work as part of a team will be important for this position.

 

Previous project engineering experience is not mandatory, making this opportunity suitable for candidates who are starting their engineering careers.
