Position Overview

We are currently looking for an Assembly Machine Technician to join a manufacturing and production team in the Boon Lay/Jurong West area.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating automated assembly and production machines, performing component and final assembly, conducting quality inspections, packing and palletizing products, handling production materials, and assisting with basic machine setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

This position is suitable for candidates with a technical background, particularly those with NITEC qualifications in Electrical, Electronics, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or related fields. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and be prepared to work overtime when required to support production needs.

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

Set up and operate automated assembly machines according to established production procedures and work instructions.

Operate production machines and loading machines safely and efficiently while following all required workplace safety procedures.

Ensure machines are operated according to the correct process parameters and production requirements.

Perform component assembly and final assembly of products according to specifications and approved production procedures.

Follow process sheets, Operating Work Instructions (OWI), production instructions, and other relevant manufacturing documentation.

Perform in-process quality inspections during production to ensure that products meet the required quality standards.

Carry out basic dimensional and visual inspections using measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, and other inspection equipment.

Identify products, components, or assemblies that do not meet the required specifications and report quality issues to the appropriate personnel.

Label finished products and components correctly according to production and shipping requirements.

Pack completed products securely and accurately for shipment.

Perform palletizing activities and ensure finished products are arranged properly for storage or transportation.

Handle and move raw materials, components, work-in-progress items, and finished products using appropriate material-handling equipment.

Operate or use lifting equipment such as pallet jacks and trolleys in accordance with workplace safety procedures.

Assist with basic machine setup, adjustment, and preparation before production starts.

Assist technicians and relevant production personnel with basic machine maintenance activities.

Perform basic troubleshooting when machine abnormalities or minor production issues occur.

Identify and report basic machine faults, equipment abnormalities, and production problems to supervisors or technicians.

Monitor machine operation during production and report unusual sounds, movements, defects, or other abnormalities.

Ensure that production materials and components are available and properly arranged for the assigned production activities.

Maintain accurate production and inspection records when required.

Keep the production area clean, safe, and organized at all times.

Follow daily 5S practices, including sorting, organizing, cleaning, standardizing, and maintaining workplace discipline.

Comply strictly with company policies, workplace rules, security requirements, and Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) regulations.

Follow all relevant safety procedures when operating machines, handling materials, and performing production activities.

Maintain good housekeeping standards throughout the production area.

Meet assigned daily production output targets while maintaining the required quality and safety standards.

Work closely with supervisors, technicians, engineers, quality personnel, and other production team members to ensure smooth production operations.

Support production activities during periods of increased workload or urgent production requirements.

Report production delays, equipment problems, quality concerns, safety issues, and other operational abnormalities promptly.

Perform other duties and production-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor or company management.

Job Requirements

Candidates applying for this position should meet the following requirements:

Minimum NITEC qualification in Electrical, Electronics, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or a related technical field.

Candidates should have a basic understanding of manufacturing and production processes.

Able to perform basic machine setup and operate automated production equipment.

Able to understand and follow process sheets and Operating Work Instructions (OWI).

Able to follow written and verbal production instructions accurately.

Able to use basic measuring tools such as vernier calipers, gauges, and other inspection equipment.

Able to perform basic quality inspections and recognize obvious product defects.

Able to identify and report basic machine faults and production abnormalities.

Willing to work in a manufacturing, assembly, or production environment.

Comfortable performing repetitive production and assembly tasks when required.

Able to handle and move production materials using suitable equipment such as pallet jacks and trolleys.

Able to follow strict workplace safety procedures and company regulations.

Responsible and committed to maintaining good quality and production standards.

Able to work independently when carrying out assigned tasks and cooperate effectively with other members of the production team.

Good attention to detail, particularly when performing assembly and quality inspection activities.

Willing to work overtime (OT) based on production requirements.

Able to adapt to changes in production requirements and work priorities.

Candidates with relevant manufacturing, machine operation, assembly, or production experience will be considered an advantage.

The Assembly Machine Technician is expected to maintain a balance between production productivity and product quality.

Employees must ensure that machines are operated according to approved procedures and that products are assembled, inspected, labeled, and packed correctly.

Any quality defects, machine abnormalities, process deviations, or safety concerns should be reported immediately to the relevant supervisor or responsible personnel.

Employees are also expected to follow all process documentation and Operating Work Instructions (OWI) without unauthorized changes to the established production process.

Safety and Workplace Responsibilities

Safety is an important part of this position.

The successful candidate must comply with all company Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements and workplace safety procedures.

This includes following correct procedures when operating production equipment, handling materials, using lifting equipment, performing machine-related tasks, and maintaining the production area.

Employees are also required to maintain good housekeeping and participate in daily 5S activities to ensure the workplace remains clean, safe, organized, and efficient.

Working Environment

This position requires the successful candidate to work in a manufacturing and production environment.

Daily duties may involve standing for extended periods, operating production equipment, performing assembly work, conducting inspections, packing products, moving materials, and maintaining the production area.

Candidates should therefore be comfortable working in an active production environment and following established production schedules and procedures.

Working Hours and Overtime

The position follows a 5-day working week.

Overtime may be required depending on production volume, operational requirements, urgent orders, and company needs.
