CLEANER (MUSEUM ENVIRONMENT) – SINGAPORE

Location: Rochor / Bugis, Singapore

Salary: SGD 1,800 – SGD 1,900 per Month

Employment Type: Full-Time

Work Schedule: 5-Day Work Week

Rest Days: Friday & Saturday

Job Description

A well-established museum in Singapore is seeking responsible, hardworking, and detail-oriented individuals to join the team as Museum Cleaners.

 

This position plays an important role in ensuring that all museum facilities remain clean, hygienic, organized, and welcoming for visitors, staff, and international guests.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout exhibition galleries, public areas, offices, and visitor facilities while ensuring all cleaning tasks are carried out safely and professionally.

 

Training will be provided for candidates who are willing to learn and committed to delivering excellent cleaning services.

 

Key Responsibilities

Perform daily cleaning of museum galleries, exhibition halls, offices, corridors, entrances, exits, staircases, elevators, meeting rooms, staff areas, storage rooms, and public facilities.

 

Sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub, dust, polish, sanitize, and disinfect floors, walls, furniture, glass panels, display cabinets, and other assigned areas.

 

Clean and sanitize public toilets, staff washrooms, changing rooms, and handwashing stations according to hygiene standards.

 

Refill consumable items including toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, hand sanitizers, tissues, air fresheners, and other restroom supplies.

 

Empty rubbish bins, replace waste bags, collect recyclable materials, and dispose of waste following environmental and company regulations.

 

Maintain cleanliness around museum entrances, reception areas, ticketing counters, visitor lounges, and waiting areas.

Ensure exhibition spaces remain clean without disturbing visitors or affecting museum displays and valuable artifacts.

 

Clean glass windows, mirrors, doors, railings, display cases, information counters, benches, and other public facilities.

Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, polishers, pressure cleaners, and other cleaning machinery safely.

 

Prepare and properly dilute cleaning chemicals according to safety guidelines and manufacturer instructions.

Follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules assigned by supervisors.

 

Immediately report damaged facilities, maintenance issues, equipment malfunctions, spills, or safety hazards.

Support deep-cleaning activities during museum maintenance periods, special exhibitions, or public events.

 

Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Assist supervisors with any additional housekeeping or cleaning duties as assigned.

 

 

Job Requirements

Previous experience in commercial cleaning, housekeeping, janitorial services, facility maintenance, or environmental services is preferred but not mandatory.

 

Candidates without experience are welcome to apply as comprehensive training will be provided.

 

Minimum secondary school education is an advantage but not compulsory.

 

Physically fit and able to perform manual cleaning duties for long working hours.

Able to stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, lift cleaning equipment, and carry supplies when necessary.

 

Good teamwork skills with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.

Responsible, reliable, punctual, honest, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.

 

Strong attention to detail and ability to identify areas requiring additional cleaning.

 

Comfortable working in a quiet museum environment with visitors from different countries.

 

Willing to follow work schedules, supervisor instructions, and company regulations.

Basic communication skills in English are preferred.

 

Able to work overtime, weekends, or public holidays if operational requirements arise.
