We are seeking a motivated, reliable, and detail-oriented Assembly Technician to join our manufacturing team in Upper Changi Road, East Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, testing, inspecting, and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical products while ensuring all production processes meet the company’s quality standards, safety regulations, and delivery schedules.

Working Hours

The company operates on fixed working shifts. Successful candidates will be assigned to one of the following schedules:

 

Day Shift

Monday to Friday

7:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Noon Shift

Monday to Friday

4:00 PM to 1:30 AM

Shift allowance provided

Company transportation provided

Overtime may be required depending on production schedules and operational requirements.

 

Job Responsibilities

The Assembly Technician will perform a variety of manufacturing and production tasks, including but not limited to:

 

Assemble electrical, electronic, and mechanical components according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and production procedures.

Perform product assembly using various hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and testing equipment.

 

Install wiring harnesses, connectors, terminals, switches, sensors, cables, and electrical components accurately.

Assemble mechanical structures, brackets, panels, housings, frames, and sub-assemblies according to specifications.

 

Carry out functional testing, electrical testing, and mechanical inspections on completed products.

Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot assembly issues, defective components, and product failures.

 

Repair or replace defective parts where necessary.

Conduct visual inspections to ensure products meet customer and company quality requirements.

Verify measurements and tolerances using appropriate measuring instruments.

 

Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.

Ensure all production work complies with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Work Instructions (WI), ISO quality standards, and company safety regulations.

 

Record production output, inspection results, testing reports, and work completion status in the company’s production system.

 

Maintain proper documentation and traceability of production records.

Support quality improvement initiatives and continuous improvement activities.

 

Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations following 5S workplace standards.

Handle production materials and finished products carefully to avoid damage.

Work closely with production supervisors, engineers, quality inspectors, warehouse personnel, and other departments.

 

Meet daily, weekly, and monthly production targets while maintaining high-quality workmanship.

Participate in production meetings, safety briefings, and technical training sessions.

Perform preventive maintenance on basic production tools when required.

 

Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or production issues immediately to supervisors.

Carry out any additional duties assigned by the Production Supervisor or Manufacturing Manager.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants should possess the following qualifications:

 

Minimum Secondary School, NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma, or equivalent qualification.

Basic knowledge of electrical, electronic, or mechanical assembly.

Experience in electronics manufacturing, engineering, production, or assembly work is preferred but not mandatory.

 

Fresh graduates and candidates without experience are welcome to apply as comprehensive training will be provided.

Ability to understand and follow written work instructions, technical documents, and engineering drawings.

 

Basic computer literacy for updating production records and system transactions.

Good manual dexterity with excellent hand-eye coordination.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

 

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsible, honest, reliable, and punctual.

Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.

 

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Able to work effectively as part of a team.

Willing to work fixed shifts and overtime when required.

 

Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods during production operations.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with the following experience will have an added advantage:

 

Experience in electronics or electrical manufacturing.

Mechanical assembly experience.

Cable harness assembly experience.

PCB assembly knowledge.

 

Electrical wiring experience.

Product testing experience.

Quality inspection experience.

 

Experience using measuring instruments such as calipers, multimeters, torque tools, and gauges.

Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or 5S practices.

Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.

 

Basic troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
